Vectors is a wall-mounted piece that combines hand-painted fabric with integrated LED lighting to create a composition built around sharp, directional lines. The fabric is folded and pleated into a series of angular planes, each catching light differently depending on the angle of the fold, and each painted in tones of pink and teal that shift in intensity across the folded surface. Embedded LEDs trace some of these folds with light, picking out specific edges and vectors within the composition and giving the piece its name -- a reference to the directional lines of light and color that run across its surface. The combination of folded fabric and embedded LED creates a piece that changes considerably between its lit and unlit states: during the day, Vectors reads primarily as a textured, folded fabric composition in pink and teal, while in the evening, the LED lines become the dominant feature, turning the folds into a network of glowing vectors against the muted fabric ground. This dual character gives Vectors a flexibility that purely static wall art lacks, offering two distinct visual experiences depending on the time of day and the lighting already present in the room it hangs in throughout the day.
Vectors' combination of bold color, folded texture, and integrated LED lighting makes it a strong focal point for walls that can support a piece with real visual presence -- a living room feature wall, a hallway, or a statement wall in a bedroom or studio. Its pink and teal palette brings color into a room in a way that more neutral or monochrome wall art cannot, making it a good choice for spaces that could use a deliberate pop of color without committing to a fully colorful overall scheme -- the piece itself can carry that role. Because Vectors looks different lit and unlit, it suits rooms where the lighting changes meaningfully between day and evening, such as living rooms or studios used for both daytime work and evening relaxation, where the piece can shift from a textured fabric composition to a glowing linear display as the room's other lighting changes. The folded, three-dimensional quality of the fabric also means Vectors casts its own subtle shadows even when the LEDs are off, adding depth to a wall that might otherwise be flat. For interiors that lean toward the eclectic or space-age, with other pieces that use bold color or unconventional materials, Vectors fits naturally as part of a broader collection of statement objects in the room.
Vectors measures approximately 31.5 inches wide by 23.6 inches tall and is constructed from hand-painted fabric folded into a series of angular pleats, with LEDs embedded along selected folds to create lines of light across the surface. The fabric is painted by hand in tones of pink and teal before being folded and mounted onto its backing, a process that allows the color to follow the contours of the folds rather than sitting flat across a single plane. The embedded LEDs run on a standard 120V US power supply and are wired to a discreet connection point at the rear of the piece, allowing Vectors to be plugged in after mounting without visible cabling across the front. Mounting hardware is included, designed to hold the piece securely against a wall while keeping its folded fabric surface slightly raised for a sense of depth and shadow. Lantern&Light developed Vectors as part of its range of illuminated fabric wall art, pieces that combine traditional hand-painting techniques with embedded lighting to create work that functions as both color-driven art and a functional light source for a room of any size. The folded fabric is mounted on a rigid backing panel, keeping its pleated shape stable over time without sagging or flattening.
