Ishi Floor Lamp

The Ishi Floor Lamp is a vertical totem of stacked geometric volumes, conceived as an illuminated sculpture rather than a conventional light source. Alternating translucent forms and textured, mineral-like masses create a disciplined rhythm up the height of the piece -- light held in tension by weight, transparency interrupted by solidity, each volume distinct from the one above and below it. When illuminated, the lamp emits a restrained 3000K glow that sharpens its geometry, picking out the edges and transitions between forms and reinforcing the sense that this is an architectural object first and a lamp second. At over four and a half feet tall, Ishi is intended to occupy space with authority, not to recede into a corner or blend with other furniture. Its stacked construction means the eye travels up the piece the way it might travel up a totem or a column, reading each volume in sequence rather than absorbing the whole shape at once. Available in two color treatments, Ishi can lean toward a bolder, more saturated presence or a more restrained black finish, but in both cases the underlying structure -- the alternation of light and mass, the disciplined stacking -- remains the defining feature of the piece, a vertical sequence built to be read from base to top.

Ishi is best placed where it has room to be read as a vertical composition -- beside a sofa, in a corner with sightlines from multiple parts of a room, or as a freestanding piece in an open area where its full height is visible. Its illuminated geometry makes it a strong companion to other space-age or minimalist lighting, extending a shared design language from wall or tabletop pieces down to floor level. Because its light is restrained rather than bright, Ishi works best as an ambient or accent source -- a piece that shapes the mood and visual rhythm of a room rather than providing primary illumination for tasks. In the orange colorway, Ishi introduces a warm accent that can tie together other colorful elements in a room, while the black version offers a more graphic, architectural presence that emphasizes form and shadow over color. Either way, the lamp's stacked structure means it reads differently depending on viewing height -- seated, its lower volumes are most prominent, while standing reveals the full sequence up to its peak. The lamp is available in orange and black colorways, both built on the same stacked-volume structure but finished differently to emphasize either color or graphic contrast. Power comes via a standard 120V US supply with a 6-foot cord, allowing the lamp to be placed away from a wall outlet if needed. The acrylic volumes are produced to a consistent translucency so that the LED glow reads evenly through each section, while the textured, mineral-like masses are finished to contrast clearly with the smoother acrylic forms around them.
