The Crescent Sconce takes the simple geometry of a crescent -- a curved sliver of a circle -- and renders it in brushed brass as a wall-mounted light fixture. The form is reduced to its essential shape: a single curved band of metal, wider at its center and tapering toward each end, mounted flush against the wall so that it appears to float slightly above the surface. The brushed brass finish gives the piece a warm, slightly textured surface that catches ambient light during the day, its grain running in fine, parallel lines across the metal. An integrated LED runs along the inner edge of the crescent, producing a warm 3000K glow that washes upward and outward onto the wall behind and around the fixture, rather than projecting outward into the room. This indirect, wall-washing quality of light is central to the Crescent Sconce's character -- it does not illuminate a room directly so much as it illuminates the wall it is mounted on, creating a soft halo of warm light around its curved brass form. The result is a fixture that reads as much as a piece of wall sculpture as a functional light, its geometry simple enough to feel modern while its brass finish and warm glow bring a sense of traditional warmth to the wall.
Crescent Sconce is designed to be mounted individually or in pairs, and its wall-washing light makes it particularly effective in hallways, stairwells, and entryways, where indirect, ambient light along a wall can guide movement through a space without the harsher quality of overhead fixtures. Mounted above a console table or alongside a mirror, the sconce's warm glow can supplement task lighting with a softer, more atmospheric layer, its brass form adding a decorative element even when switched off. In bedrooms, a pair of Crescent Sconces mounted at headboard height can serve as reading lights with a gentler, more diffuse quality than a direct bedside lamp, their curved brass forms framing the bed without taking up surface space on nightstands. The brushed brass finish pairs naturally with warm-toned interiors -- spaces built around wood, cognac leather, or warm neutral walls -- where the sconce's metal can echo and reinforce the room's existing material palette. Because the fixture projects only slightly from the wall, Crescent Sconce is also a practical choice for narrow hallways or other tight spaces where a protruding lamp or larger fixture would be impractical, offering ambient light without encroaching on circulation space nearby in the home or apartment.
Crescent Sconce measures approximately 15.7 inches wide by 9.8 inches tall and is constructed from brushed brass, formed into a single curved crescent shape. The integrated LED runs along the inner edge of the crescent and produces a warm 3000K glow, wired directly into the fixture during assembly so that no separate bulb or visible wiring is needed once installed. Power comes via a standard 120V US connection, with the fixture designed for direct wall mounting using included hardware suited to standard interior walls. The brushed brass finish is applied to resist fingerprints and tarnishing with normal handling, maintaining its warm tone and fine surface texture over years of use. Lantern&Light developed Crescent Sconce as part of its range of geometric wall lighting, pieces that reduce familiar shapes to their simplest form and pair them with integrated, indirect lighting for a quiet but warm effect on interior walls. Once mounted and connected to power, Crescent Sconce requires no further adjustment, its curved brass form and warm wall-washing glow becoming a permanent, low-maintenance feature of the room it is installed in for years to come, with no bulbs ever needing replacement or periodic servicing of any kind at all, ever, under normal conditions.
